AS PARENTS of a son and two daughters, my wife Marlene and I have had 3 Mitzvahs. We’ve “been there” and know exactly what’s at stake. But if you carefully choose each vendor and enjoy your working relationship, invariably it always all comes together! AS AN MC, I’ve got a terrific occupation. Every time I go to work, I’m going to a party! (How many people can say that?) This is SUCH an important day that the entertainment can’t be pretty good or even really good. It’s got to be A+. There’s no dress rehearsal, no “do-overs,” so...hire a Mitzvah pro. (And this is my profession. Not my hobby.) AS A DISC JOCKEY, as well as Radio Program Director and Music Director, over the years you may have caught The Joe Show up and down the AM & FM dials in Baltimore on WLPL, WCBM, WFBR, WQSR, WLIF or WCAO. I’ll arrive at your party with an UP-TO-DATE MUSIC LIBRARY + THOUSANDS OF “OLDIES.” Utilizing an equalized, stereo sound system, I provide dance favorites spanning from Baltimore’s currently “HOT” tunes all the way back to timeless swing music of the Big Band Era and EVERYTHING in between: Motown, disco, classic rock, novelties...you-name-it. (And you can, too! I’m aware of lyric issues, but happy to take appropriate requests.) Whether the guest list includes your child’s friends only or a wide demographic mix, as MC I personalize every affair, relating to EVERYONE (regardless of age). All DJs provide music. But I’ll make your party STAND OUT WHILE STILL BEING CLASSY. It’s all in the preparation and presentation. For Mitzvah staples such as the Candlelighting Ceremony and even the Hora, enjoy a fresh approach and the “pleasantly unexpected.” If the Guest of Honor is extroverted and says “YES!” I can costume your child for specific songs, and/or I’m happy to provide a crash course in basic equipment and microphone technique, allowing your child to be the Disc Jockey for some favorite tunes. FUN STUFF! As to games, there’s life beyond Coke & Pepsi and The Limbo! I’m proprietary with my contests since some are my own creation and copyright. But I never forget who the “star of the show” is and I VALUE your child’s input. Eyes usually light up as I describe loads of interactive alternatives and they envision their friends competing. Also, importantly, I bring organization, direction and focus to every party...always at the proper energy intensity and volume level. When I MC, dancing isn’t a spectator sport. Your guests will expect entertainment, but I’ll help you deliver a real CELEBRATION! Will they have a fabulous time? You bet. Your delight is a must so, at YOUR discretion, at the party’s conclusion, if you felt that my performance was, in any way, less than anticipated or promised...don’t pay!
